If there is no lease, how am I protected as a guest?

At RoomForTea we take safety very seriously. Hosts have certain obligations they must adhere to, including rental laws specific to the city they are hosting in as well as health and safety standards. All rooms listed on the platform have been verified through a house visit or video verification to ensure they meet these necessary standards of health and safety. At any time during your stay, if you have concern that the health and safety standards are not being met, please contact us as soon as possible. For each term of stay, a Stay Agreement is drafted and signed, outlining the conditions of the stay for both the host and the guest. The RoomForTea support team is always available to help, please feel free to contact us.

What is a Stay Agreement?

A Stay Agreement is a document outlining the terms of the living arrangement, it acts as a regulated license from the time the guest accepts the booking offer to the end of the stay. The agreement acts as a a mutual acceptance of the outlined terms and conditions, including: length of stay; payment, fees, and damage deposit; cancellations/stay dates amendments and notice periods; safety and conduct; and more. Please make sure to read the document carefully and download a PDF copy for your records - you can do so by selecting the ‘Stay Agreement’ button in the Bookings tab of your user dashboard. If anything is unclear or incomplete, a member of the RoomForTea team will be happy to help.
